Sundered® is a chaotic hand-drawn action-adventure game where you resist or embrace ancient eldritch powers. Confront hordes of terrifying enemies in an ever-changing world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Sundered is a challenging and unique take on a classic genre from the creators of Jotun. Sundered: Eldritch Edition includes the Magnate of the Gong Update, adding local co-op multiplayer support for up to 4 players, along with new areas and a chaotic battle against the new Magnate of the Gong boss! Resist or embrace.
Sundered is a game that builds on the strengths of Thunder Lotus' first game, Jotun: hand-drawn art, epic boss battles, and a fully immersive world. In addition, Sundered has been designed to be a more varied and replayable experience than Jotun, including more complex mechanics and meaningful player choices. Further, with Sundered, Thunder Lotus delves into a darker universe heavily inspired by Lovecraft’s writings.

Jotun is a hand-drawn action-exploration game set in Norse mythology. In Jotun, you play Thora, a Norse warrior who has died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla.
After quitting his job in January 2014, Will Dubé and friends brought Jotun to Kickstarter in July of the same year. Raising over $64,000 from 2,299 backers, Jotun was also Greenlit in under a week. The success of the Kickstarter campaign consolidated the team and the vision and allowed us to get additionnal funding from the Canadian Media Fund and the Montreal Inc Foundation.
Jotun released on Steam (Windows, Mac and Linux) on September 29th, 2015. Jotun: Valhalla Edition was released to PS4, XBOX ONE and Wii U in summer 2016. Valhalla Edition contains Valhalla Mode, a boss rush mode with even fiercer versions of the already challenging jotun.

Thunder Lotus is a maker of beautifully powerful video games. A passionate collective of AAA, indie, and mobile expats with over 40 years of combined industry experience and 20+ shipped titles, Thunder Lotus aspires to distill its visionary original IP’s into captivating interactive experiences that the team itself would love to play.
In 2014, studio founder Will Dubé quit his job as a mobile game designer with the goal of bringing an independent video game project to the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Dubé rallied a group talented friends and former colleagues to the cause, and the loose collective settled on the evocative moniker Thunder Lotus.
Their first project was Jotun, the tale a Norse warrior who has died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla. The game’s unique blend of action and exploration gameplay, along with its eye-catching hand-drawn take on Norse mythology, struck a chord with the Kickstarter community in summer 2014, raising over $64,000 from 2,300 backers.
The success of the Kickstarter campaign consolidated the team and its vision, helping to secure additional external funding, as well as crucial endorsement from the gamer community writ large via the Greenlight process on Steam, the leading digital storefront for PC games.
Since then, Thunder Lotus has never looked back. Bolstered by strong reviews from critics and players alike, Jotun has gone on to attract over 1 million players into its hand-drawn, Norse-inspired world since its fall 2015 launch.
In the interim, Thunder Lotus developed its sophomore creation, titled Sundered. An ambitiously designed action game set in a distinctly darker universe, Sundered built on the studio’s strengths while pushing beyond Jotun’s artistic and technical scope considerably. Thunder Lotus leveraged its growing experience, resources, fanbase, and partnerships to ensure a strong launch for Sundered upon its release in summer 2017.
Over time, the team’s growing maturity coalesced into a strong vision for the studio, which they proudly see as being built upon a foundation of Respect for the Player, the Team, and for the Craft.
With its days as a fledgling enterprise now a distant memory, Thunder Lotus has recently entered its fifth year in the industry with significant momentum and ambition. The team has grown substantially, and the studio has upgraded to a larger space in the vibrant Saint-Henri neighborhood of Montreal.
Thunder Lotus recently announced its third production, Spiritfarer: a cozy management game about dying. The game is scheduled for release with Xbox Game Pass for PC and Console, Xbox One, Windows PC, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, Mac and Linux in 2020.
